Health Update

So, this has been a never ending illness. Last Friday I was put on an antibiotic and after like 5 days on it I didn't feel any sort of relief. I still had horrible headaches, I still felt feverish, and my eyes were still super swollen everyday. With the urging of my boss (who was really concerned that something was wrong), I made another appointment with the doctor to see if I couldn't get a stronger prescription. The doctor was surprised that I was still experiencing fevers and so after drawing blood (which I completely hate), x-rays, and several questions she decided to give me a stronger antibiotic. A stronger and way more expensive antibiotic. I started it on Thursday along with some allergy pills that the doctor recommended also. I noticed right away that my headache was gone and the pressure in my forehead was lessened. It was so nice.

That night as I was getting ready for bed, I noticed a few red spots on my face and neck. It resembled a rash, but since I was going to bed I didn't think too much about it. When I woke up Friday morning, I got a huge surprise when I looked in the mirror. I was completely covered in hives! My eyes were also swollen again and so I looked nothing like myself. I was in shock, but went to work anyway because I felt pretty good besides the fact that I looked horrible. I made another appointment at the doctors (the earliest I could get in). I probably shouldn't have gone to work because my co-workers made a big fuss over me, which I guess they would have to given the state that I looked. :) The itching started right before I left to the doctors so I didn't have to deal with it too long. The doctor decided that the hives were a reaction to the medicine, but we are not exactly sure which medicine caused them. The doctor believed the hives to be a penicillin rash, which was the first antibiotic, but who really knows. After the doctors, I went home and slept for the rest of the day.

Now, I'm on all sorts of other pills to help with the allergic reaction and the hives are still here (nothing like Friday, but just a little bit still lingering), but my sinuses feel great! I'm hoping I'm getting better because I'm headed to Los Angeles this weekend and I don't want to feel crappy because Brian and I have a ton of fun planned!

Oh and for your viewing pleasure, I have included a couple of pictures of the hives! I hope this doesn't gross anyone out.
This is my neck and chest. Yikes!

Here's my arm.
