I LOVE MY LIFE!

Things are going really good out here, and just when I thought they couldn't get any better, I heard some wonderful news! I have this favorite radio station out here in Utah, called 101.9 The End. I used to listen to it all the time when I was in Provo and one of my favorite things about this station is that they play Sting, and The Police. They used to do this thing called 2 for Tuesdays where they would play 2 songs in a row by an artist. I would always call and request my favorite Sting and Police songs while I was working at a copy center in Orem. Anyway, the radio station had been talking about some big announcement this last week for a group that is coming out to Salt Lake this summer. Of course I was clueless and had no idea who they'd be excited about. Come Friday morning, they announced it would be my favorite group of all time, THE POLICE! They also announced that tickets would be going on sale this weekend (Feb. 23rd). I was so pumped and was planning my method of attack to insure that I got some tickets to this show. I really didn't think I'd ever get to see my favorite group again!

So, to the point of my story. I was hanging out Monday night and my cell phone rang with my dad on the caller id. When I answered, he said, "Happy Birthday!" I sat there completely confused and said, "Dad, you know my birthday is not until July, right?" He and my mom said, "Happy Birthday," again and I just answered, "What are you talking about?" He then proceeded to tell me that he bought me tickets to THE POLICE concert. I think I might have yelled shut up, and I definitely was crying. The tickets are a birthday gift because the concert is July 19th (2 days before my birthday)! He was able to get them through a special presale they had because he had a specific credit card.

Can I just say that my parents totally rock? They are so great. They probably couldn't have given me a better gift this year. I get to see THE POLICE again!!!! Like I said before, I love my life!

Here's a picture of me in Dover, England (back in 2004) with my Sting shirt on. I wore it because in one of Sting's songs he sings about the white cliffs of Dover, so I had to have a picture of us there. :) Yeah, I pretty much love him.

That is so sweet! What a thoughtful gift. I'm glad to hear that you are enjoying life in Utah despite the horrible weather. I'm closer to you then Provo so it wouldn't be a long drive at all...we need to hang out soon. Congrats again on the tickets!

holy crap girl! Every time I hear anything about Sting, I think of you! I'm so glad to see your blog and to know what you are up to. It's been forever! Any word on Danielle? I'm so glad you are in SLC! I'll totally have to get a hold of you whenever we are around (which probably won't be much this year, but one of these days!). Oh-from my blog you can get to Sarah's and from hers there is stuff on Kirsti, Nicole, and mentions of Julie on everyones! She's in Provo these days I believe.
