A Day I'll Never Forget

Before I talk about the day mentioned above, let me tell you about a day 1 year earlier.  December 21, 2008 was the day I first met my Brian in person.  Brian and I had been talking and emailing for several months at work, because our companies worked together.  We decided to meet when I was home in San Diego for Christmas.  We met and spent the day together.  I showed Brian San Diego, a city he hadn't ever visited before.  We went to Old Town, Balboa Park, church (his first time attending an LDS service), and the beach.  It was a great day together, and obviously you all have seen how we've spent the last year together, if you've been reading this blog.  At first we were going back and forth visiting for short weekends, until I made the decision to move back to California for him.  To celebrate having met a year before, Brian and I decided it would be fun to head to the beach.  It was Sunday, yet again.  The date was December 20, 2009.  We headed to the closest beach to us, which is Malibu!  It was a gorgeous day.  Let me show you.

It was beautiful, and deserted!  Hardly anyone was there, so we left like we were on our own private beach.  We walked talking about the last year and how so much had changed and how amazing it was that we are now together.  It was so fun to discuss what we talked about a year before as we were really starting to get to know each other better.  Brian mentioned that we should try to find a rock and or sea shell on the beach, as I had done the year before.  He then decided we should make it a game and see who could find the best rock or shell.  I took his offer and ran off towards the water, because there are always good shells there.  I came upon a shell and knew I was going to win.  I had seen Brian bent over a small patch of brown rocks.  I so had this in the bag!  I ran over saying, I won, I won, but when I got there Brian had turned and was all of a sudden on one knee holding up a ring, saying, "What do you think about this rock!"

What?  I completely freaked out!  Brian had to calm me down so that he could actually propose!  His words were beautiful and of course I said yes!  Brian and I are getting married!  Yippe!  Here are the rest of our pictures from that afternoon!

Here we are!  The unbelievably happy couple!

Okay, I am so in love with this ring!  It's perfect!

Here's my ring with the shell I found and the rock Brian was near.

It was the most perfect day and proposal.  Like I said, it's a day I'll never forget!  We are getting married on June 5, 2010 in the San Diego Temple!  :)
