Waco, Texas Part Two

Here's the second part of our trip to Texas.
So, after such a crazy day Sunday we didn't get back to Waco until 2am, so we slept in on Monday! Once we were up and ready Brian and I went to Baylor University so he could give me a tour. It's a beautiful campus and was really peaceful. Here are some pictures from our walk on campus.

There were these cute bench swings that I sat down to rest on. Brian insisted on taking a picture. :)

Here are some pictures of the famous Baylor Bears! There is an enclosure for them right on campus. These guys were really cute. They just kept walking in circles as if they were pacing.

Here's Brian with the bears. He's wearing his Baylor hat, showing off that school spirit!

That night Brian's mom made him his favorite dinner. We had a pot roast with potatoes and carrots, fried okra, and crescent rolls with pumpkin pie and cherry cobbler for dessert. It was so yummy! I even loved the fried okra, which I never had before.

Tuesday was our last full day in Waco. We woke up early so we could go watch Jacob march during band practice since we didn't get to see that at the football game. When we got home we went back to bed for a little bit until we really wanted to be up for the day. Once we were up and ready Brian and I went to lunch with his parents at Dan's BBQ. It was yummy stuff. I was glad I got to experience some good Texas barbeque. We then headed downtown. Brian wanted to take me to the suspension bridge. Here are some pictures from that:

It's a beautiful bridge!

Here's a picture of Brian and his parents!

After taking Brian's dad back to the house BB, his mom, and I went to see a showcase house. The Waco Symphony did a fund raiser where they had several interior designers each decorate a room in a house and then people pay to come see it. Brian's mom was interested in going and after showing me pictures I wanted to go too. Brian went really camera happy at the house, but I have only put my favorite pictures on here.

This is the house. Like I mentioned in the previous post, I love the brick style houses in Texas. You don't see much of this at all in California.

This is the formal dining room. It was beautiful. The designers even included a list of the items they purchased, where they got them and how much they were. Let me tell you this stuff was expensive!

I am a huge fan of kitchens! They have to be big, have tons of counter and cabinet space and have nice appliances. This one was awesome! I love double ovens, big refrigerators, and this island that I'm looking at. I would love to have a kitchen like this one day.

So, my favorite room in the whole house was the master bathroom. It seems strange I know, but take a look at these pictures...

This is a beautiful tub! It has jets and everything! What girl doesn't love a bubble bath?

Now I'm standing in the shower. There are entry doors on both sides with double shower heads and amazing tile work. I'm not lying when I say that I could live in this bathroom. There were great his and her vanities along with huge walk in closets. Yes, it was my favorite room.

There was another cool room in this showcase house and that was the media room. This room contained a half bath, small kitchen with a mini fridge, microwave, and some cabinets. There was also a nice long couch (which Brian and I are sitting on) and a projection system set up to watch movies. It was an awesome room.

After the showcase house, there was another house Brian wanted to show me.

This was the house that Brian lived in while he lived in Waco. The family moved to Waco and into the house pictured above when Brian entered high school and moved about 2 years ago to their current house.

Tuesday night we had to say our goodbyes to Andi's family. Here's Uncle Bo with his nephews and niece.

Here's Jackson!
and Averie (she and I had a lot of fun)

and of course, Jacob!

Here's Brian with Andi and the kids! It was sad to say goodbye. Hopefully we get to see them again soon!
We had such a fun time in Texas! It was so great to meet Brian's family and I loved spending time with them. A big Thank You to Brian's parents for having me. It was so fun!
