I had the amazing opportunity to attend General Conference last weekend. My friend and upstairs neighbor Melissa had a extra ticket and invited me to go. This conference was in a way very exciting for me because I had never before experienced the passing of our Prophet and then seeing what happens with the calling of a new Prophet. I was really interested in what would be said and how people would react at this assembly. I was grateful to hear so many testimonies shared by the Apostles for President Monson and his new calling, as wells as their sorrow and happiness for the loss of President Hinckley. Their words put my mind and heart at ease, as I'm sure they did everyone else's. I was able to attend the Sunday afternoon session and heard some wonderful talks. President Monson spoke and it was so great to be there and to feel of his spirit...such a testimony builder. I know he's a Prophet of God and will do a great work! Here are some pictures for your enjoyment.

There are always protesters at General Conference telling all of the members that our church is false and other "wonderful" things. I always find this to be quite comical. Anyway, there was this man (wearing devil horns and holding a plastic pitchfork) who had this sign in the picture. It reads, "Hi, my name is Satan, these street preachers are my missionaries." Isn't that funny? I probably shouldn't have taken a picture, but I couldn't help it.
Here's one last picture with me in it...

You look so cute in that picture and that is WONDERFUL that you got to be there for President Monson's first General Conference, what an amazing memory. We need to get together, we live too close not to by the way.
