Obessed with fantasy yet again...

Oh how I wish I wasn't such a glutton for punishment. I went to the library the other day and came across a book that I had heard about and seen, but had yet to read. It's called Austenland. I knew it was going to be related with Jane Austen and having read many other books like it, I decided to check it out.

I started reading after work on Thursday evening and finished Friday at lunch. Granted, it was less than 200 pages, but I was completely enthralled! How is it that men in books and movies seem so perfect? I feel a loss of hope at the realization of what options I have in reality. Is there anyone in the world like Mr. Darcy? Granted, he's not perfect at the start of the book, but he is completely so by the end. Now, I've thrown myself into this ridiculous state of watching Pride and Prejudice. I usually end up watching the newer version about once a month or so, but this weekend I'm watching the lovely A&E version with Colin Firth. I'm not sure that I can choose between the Mr. Darcy's, because they are both so yummy! Here are some pictures for your viewing pleasure!

I hardly have words to describe how I feel about these two!

I hate that fiction and media (related to fiction) has completely ruined men for me. I can only assume that I will feel nothing but disappointment...

...but, I honestly hope not!

I feel your Pride and Prejudice longing! I love the book and movies and have also read many books related to the original. I think I like Colin Firth in the first, but Keira Knightly in the second. You have to learn to compartmentalize fiction and reality! I used to compare and made myself mad, then realized no good comes from it. By the way, Shannon Hale has written a bunch of great books and is LDS if you didn't already know that. Try Princess Academy. So Good!

I'm here to attest! Ok, so Dan may not be as romatic oooy gooey as Mr. Darcy....BUT he is romantic in his own way...even if changing the poopy diaper so I don't have to or mopping the floor may not look sexy to some women....you know what they say,"I love a man with dishpan hands!" Don't get too stuck in the crazy- that -is -so -not -what -it -is -like -everyday- movies and books. There is sweet romance in the day to day...you just have to open your eyes to see it! Here's hoping your own REAL (flaws and all) Mr. Darcy comes your way soon! until then...chin up (so you don't miss him!)

I've read the book twice and watched both the A&E version and movie version of Pride and Prejudice way too many times! And yet, I'll probably watch one of them again within the next two months. Thankfully, Alan indulges my love of p&j and will even sit down and watch them with me:)

Bless you for loving that book! I thought it was hilariously wonderful! Jon always makes fun of me because I would rent the Keira Knightly Pride and Prejudice like once a week from the library, so he bought it for me and then my friend lent me the BBC version and I honestly don't know which one I like better. Heck, I love Collin Firth in Nanny McFee because he is Mr. Darcy. I get hooked on those timeless romances. I agree with Danielle that Shannon Hale's Princess Academy is excellent. I own that one because I want to read it to Sevy when she grows up. Another good series is Maximum Ride by James Patterson. It's totally teenybopperish, but you just fall in love with Fang, and it's a clean read which I love. Miss ya girl!

I absolutely loved this book! I bought it off amazon after I read it from the library just because I wanted to be able to read it over and over.
